Physical Demands Descriptions (PDDs)

An in-depth description of the physical demands and environmental conditions associated with a job being performed (often referred to as Physical Demands Analysis (PDA)). PDDs have many uses, including: Identifying certain jobs that may require a more detailed ergonomic assessment due to a higher risk for musculoskeletal disorders (MSD); Determining the skills and qualifications necessary to complete a job; Acting as the starting point for developing a job rotation schedule to reduce overall physical load on a worker; An invaluable tool during the return-to-work process to ensure an injured worker receives the treatment necessary to return to the workplace, or other suitable safe work can be found for the worker.
